Using Backgrounds and Settings to Create Effective Internet Web Videos for Your Business
An increasing number of small business owners are using Internet web video as part of their Internet promotion strategy. But, most small business owners aren’t experts at video and are concerned over the proper techniques in how to use their video camera. Backgrounds and sites for a video can make or break a professional looking Internet web video. Below are some strategies you can use with respect to site and background locations for how to use your video camera to give your business promotion the best chance.
1. Think of Different Locations From Which You Can Film.
Avoid staying cooped up in your office taking videos of you just talking to a camera. Make things interesting by taking your viewers to an interesting location that is somehow related to the point of the video. If you are talking about team building, you might want to go to a nearby school field, or a quiet field if you want to talk about getting away to re-group. Any location that conveys the message of your video in an inventive way will capture your audience’s attention.
If you are shooting in an outdoor location, keep in mind that the weather may not cooperate and be prepared. Keep a strong cover for your camera and other equipment handy in case of rain or snow. And be aware of background noise that may disturb the sound quality, being prepared to re-record in a quieter spot later, if necessary.
2. Use a Different Background Setting for Every Video.
Not only can your locations help to emphasize points, but your background can as well. One really powerful feature of video is that you can appeal to a viewer’s visual as well as audible senses, which can add tremendous impact if you choose your backgrounds carefully.
A crowded bus depot would be a much different video setting than sitting in a church or taping from a sports event. Your neighborhood will have all different kinds of background options right nearby, so keep your eyes open for possible settings you can use.
3. Arrange Your Setting.
The visual arrangement of your video is important, so make sure you arrange the background in suc a way that it is visually appealing to your viewers.
Large backgrounds, for example require you to stand about halfway between the setting and the camera. If you are too close, no one will be able to see the background. If you are too far, the audience won’t see you closely enough to make a connection. It’s important to remember that you need to stand back further than would seem necessary. Most video recorders are set to default to the wide screen setting, so you need to shoot from at least ten feet to include everything.
Internet web video is the future of online promotion, and if you know how to use your video camera well it will be simpler to create powerful, impactful videos fast. Effective backgrounds and settings will help tremendously in making compelling Internet web videos.
